News

Visitor moorings

Northwest Marine have now relaid all the visitor moorings to the south side of the harbour opposite Dungallan Park and near the sailing club.  Visitors should easily pick out the 16 yellow buoys laid out in 2 rows of eight just north of the Cardingmill Bay moorings.  You should find them a little quieter and less bumpy than the old moorings near the Esplanade.

Telephone

The Oban Sailing Club telephone is not working properly at the moment, so if you try to ring in we won't hear you.  Please let us know if you are having trouble contacting us - we have to decide whether to get BT to fix it or not.

Club clothing

We now hold a number of club T shirts and polo shirts.  To any member interested in buying one, they are located in a box in the bar.  Please ask the duty officer on race days if you want to buy one.

Photos or videos

If any OSC members or friends have photos or video clips of Oban Bay or yachts etc for the website please send them to toby.sherwin@btinternet.com.  We particularly want some video clips to put on the web site banner.  if you have a video camera and could film the start of a race, say, it would be much appreciated.  Thanks.

New moorings off Jura

The Isle Jura Development Trust have taken over the Argyll and Bute visitor moorings at Craighouse.  They are installing an additional 8 moorings, upgrading and inspecting the existing ones, removing boulders in the area and installing a landing pontoon and bridge to provide access to the stone pier.  The additional moorings should be available late June and the pontoons in place mid July.
