Social Dinghy Sailing Summer 2020
Dear Members
Our first proper outing on the water as a club was yesterday with 7 dinghies out for a great sail in a stiff breeze and full sunshine (I know, because I ended the day with a red nose!). Pictures on our social media accounts.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to make this happen with all the necessary safety elements in place.
The plan now is to keep going through the summer with afternoon sailing on the weekend and evening sailing mid-week (Wed or Thur). Looking at the forecast it would seem that Wednesday is the better evening. So the plan …
Informal Dinghy Sailing
Wednesday 15th July
6:30 to 8:30
I attach below the Covid-19 Safe Sailing guidance we have developed. In addition I remind you of a few key points:
– There will be no changing facilities so please be prepared to change in a car or in some other discrete manner. A toilet will be open for use.
– Under 16s must have an adult helper from their family group present all the time (either ashore or on the water)
– Club equipment will be available (wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets (for under 12s) and boats)
Safety Boat Drivers
We need help from our group of Safety Boat drivers. The challenge here is that helm and crew must be from the same household. If you think you can help with the safety boat please contact Jamie Rodgers osc@obansailingclub.org
