Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) – Why Your Voice Matters
📅 Wednesday 20th August 2025
🕖 7:00pm at Oban Sailing Club (Online option available)
Oban Sailing Club will be holding an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Wednesday 20th August 2025 at 7:00pm. The meeting will take place at the clubhouse, with an option to join online for those who cannot attend in person.
This EGM is being called to address important matters about the future direction and structure of the club. As a community-run, volunteer-led organisation, the continued success of Oban Sailing Club relies on the input, involvement, and support of its members.
Over the past season, we’ve faced some real challenges – but also seen incredible enthusiasm and potential for growth. The EGM is an opportunity to reflect on where we are, where we’re going, and how we can work together to ensure the club remains active, inclusive, and sustainable.
Why is this important?
- We need decisions to be made about how the club is managed and supported moving forward.
- We want to ensure our members’ voices are heard and your priorities are reflected in what happens next.
- Without member engagement, the club cannot function effectively – and some activities and opportunities may be at risk.
Whether you sail every week, help out occasionally, or simply value what the club brings to the local community, we urge you to attend.
If you care about the future of Oban Sailing Club, now is the time to be part of the conversation.
Details of the agenda and how to join online will be shared closer to the date.
