Hey there,
Oban Sailing Club will be hosting this years first (of many?) volunteer afternoon sessions this Saturday and we need your help!
We cannot run the club with just a committee, we need many helpers in many disciplines.
You don’t even have to like the water to be able to help out! (It does help though!)
Currently there are openings for people to run or help to run Monday Mayhem, Racing Events (Dinghy & Keel), Bar Hosting, Repairs & Maintenance, Safety Boats, Social Media, Social Events, Advertising and many more activities that are required to make our club a success.
Remember a club is not just one person!
So with all this in mind, the Clubhouse will be open from 1300 until the early evening (Bar opened from 1600, with nibbles!), this Saturday the 11th March.
We plan –
Safety Boat updates (New mooring set up),
Bar training and re-familiarisation (Over 18’s only I am afraid),
a ‘Kit’ Bring/Buy/Sell/Swap for those of you that have anything that you may have grown out of like wetsuits etc. (If anyone has any other nautical related items they may want sell or swap let us know!).
A ‘Swim’.. Julia will be hosting a ‘Swim in the Sea’ for anyone who would like to participate! Luckily we will have both safety boats available.
A ‘Meet the Committee’ for general discussions on what is happening around the Clubhouse and what we have planned for the upcoming season. As well as being very open to suggestions on what we can do ‘better’ or add to make your membership more enjoyable.
If you would like to sign up for the ‘Bar Training’, please can you drop us an email. If you cannot make this Saturday, we will have a follow up session at a later date.
I hope to see you on Saturday and please let your friends and family know.
Kindest regards
Derek
