Club News from West Highland Yachting Week:Six OSC yachts took part in WHYW over the past week and everyone managed at least one podium placing. Well done to all.In Class 2 Ann and Andrew Campbell’s Ajax took a 3rd in one of the races of Craobh Haven, but only took part in the first part of the week due to other family commitments.Class 3, which proved to be a very competitive Class, saw the Chapman’s Elixir of Lorn gain a 1st, five 2nds and two 3rds for 2nd overall in Class. Colin Crawford’s Dawn seeker scored a 3rd and a 2nd for 6th overall.In Class 7, another very competitive Class, Alison’s Hot Toddy had two 2nds and a 3rd for 4th overall.Class 8 featured Jamie Smith’s Maggie May, scoring two 3rds for 7th overall and Darren Taylor’s Bluefin, the smallest boat in the fleet, scored three 1sts and two 2nds for an excellent 2nd overall.The weather was a bit mixed with some medium strength and strong winds and some sunshine culminating in a spectacular day for the last sail from Tobermory to Oban, which was downwind all the way, with spinnakers flying for the appropriate classes and sunshine all the way.
