Round Mull results

Of 41 starters only 10 completed all three races.  Congratulations to everyone who finished despite the ferocious weather, especially little Hot Toddy and Michael the Minitonner.  You're a gutsy lot.

RYA Honda Challenge

Congratulations to Jamie Chapman for coming third in the senior age group of the Scottish heats of the RYA Honda Challenge at Port Edgar on 26th June.  And congratulations also to Craig Pollock who gave a very creditable performance in the junior age group.  Better luck next year!

Kenny MacDonald

Oban Sailing Club wishes to record with sadness that Kenny MacDonald has died following a period of illness.  Our sympathy goes to his family.  Kenny was a well known figure on the west coast sailing scene and Commodore of OSC between 1988 and 1990.  The funeral service will be held in St Columba's Cathedral, Oban, at 2 pm on Monday 21st June.

Rescue boat award

OSC has won a grant from Awards for All for nearly £10,000 to buy a rescue boat.  This is major boost for the club and means that we will be able to increase the number of young sailors that are able to sail in safety during dinghy races.
